What intake screen models does ADENCO manufacture?

ADENCO manufactures four standard product lines: ADENCO-45 (compact series), ADENCO-70 (standard series), ADENCO-127 (high-capacity series) and the ADENCO-BOX (pre-assembled series). Across the four lines, capacity ranges from 5 to 6,500 l/s. Custom configurations are available for projects that are outside the standard range.

What stainless steel options does ADENCO offer?

ADENCO screens are available in six stainless steel grades: 304, 304L, 316, 316L, duplex, and super duplex. The engineering team recommends the appropriate grade based on water chemistry, chloride levels, operating temperature, and the expected operating environment of your project.

Which ADENCO model is suitable for small hydropower intakes?

Most small hydropower intakes use the ADENCO-70 (25 to 100 l/s per unit, up to 800 l/s across eight units) or, for larger flows, the ADENCO-127 (150 l/s per metre of width, up to 6,500 l/s in a multi-unit array). Micro-hydro and small mountain-stream intakes below 35 l/s per unit use the ADENCO-45. Retrofits of existing Tyrolean weirs are usually custom-built to fit the opening already in the concrete. Our engineers confirm the model when they review your design flow and weir geometry.

Which model is suitable for large infrastructure projects?

The ADENCO-127 high-capacity series is designed for large hydropower plants, major irrigation systems, wastewater treatment pre-screening, and infrastructure retrofit projects. It is available in 0.5, 1.0 and 1.25 metre widths and can be installed in multi-unit arrays for higher capacity.

Does ADENCO offer a system for cold-climate sites?

Yes. ADENCO has developed an anti-icing system specifically for sub-zero environments. This system counters frazil ice (small ice crystals carried in flowing water) and solid ice formation on the screen surface, so the intake keeps its capacity during winter operation.

Engineering

How does ADENCO determine the correct screen design for a project?

ADENCO engineers analyse the required flow rate, the characteristics of the river or canal, the debris type and load, climate conditions, and installation constraints to select the optimal model, slot width (the gap between the wires), tilt angle, and material grade. Each screen is designed for the conditions at its site rather than supplied as a generic product.

What flow rate range do ADENCO screens cover?

ADENCO screens cover 5 to 6,500 l/s depending on the model and configuration selected. For projects that need more flow than a single screen provides, several screens are installed side by side in a multi-unit array on a shared weir.

Does ADENCO provide project-specific engineering calculations?

Yes. Every quotation includes a hydraulic sizing report with the calculated flow capacity, the recommended slot width, the tilt angle, the reasons for the material selection, and a general arrangement (GA) drawing. This is provided at no additional cost during the quotation stage.

Installation & Retrofit

Can ADENCO screens be retrofitted to existing water intake structures?

Yes. Retrofitting existing intakes is one of ADENCO's core capabilities. Screens are designed to mount on existing concrete weirs or intake structures with minimal changes to the concrete. The TISKI (Trabzon Water and Sewerage Administration) project demonstrated this on a large scale, with 64 screens retrofitted at multiple intake points.

Does ADENCO provide installation support?

Yes. ADENCO offers technical guidance during installation, including detailed mounting drawings and on-site support where required. For international projects, the engineering team can provide remote supervision or coordinate with local contractors.

What information does ADENCO need to prepare a quotation?

The minimum information required is: design flow rate in litres per second, the type of water body (river, reservoir, canal, etc.), site photographs or engineering drawings, intended application, and any specific filtration or environmental compliance requirements.

What is included in the delivery, and what does the contractor provide?

ADENCO delivers the complete screen assembly plus a complete kit of installation materials and fixings: drill bits, high-grade sealing mastic, gaskets, silicone for rough concrete surfaces, EPDM sealing tape, stainless steel anchor clips, a sealant gun, and a hard plastic cleaning brush. The contractor provides the concrete works (the concrete structure built to ADENCO drawings) and the installation labour: placing the screen on the prepared structure and securing it with the supplied fixings.

How quickly does ADENCO respond to quotation requests?

ADENCO typically delivers a detailed engineering quotation within one to two business days of receiving the required project information. Complex or multi-screen projects may require a brief additional review period.

What are the typical delivery lead times?

Production is typically completed in 2 weeks for 1-2 screens, 4 weeks for up to 6 screens, and up to 6 weeks for larger orders; arrays of more than ten units can take up to 8 weeks. These times count from drawing approval until the screens are ready at our factory (ex-works), and they vary with screen size. ADENCO provides a specific delivery schedule with each quotation, and technical drawings are prepared in 2 business days.

What warranty does ADENCO provide?

Every ADENCO screen is covered by a 2-year warranty against manufacturing defects. Warranty claims are handled through our ISO 10002 certified complaint-management process, so every claim follows a documented, auditable procedure.

How is pricing structured?

Pricing is project-based and reflects the engineering, material, and manufacturing scope specific to your project. ADENCO provides itemised cost breakdowns so that each line item is transparent and auditable.

Does ADENCO deliver internationally?

Yes. ADENCO operates from offices in Türkiye and Germany and delivers to projects worldwide. The logistics team manages export documentation, customs coordination, and freight arrangements to the project site.
