Snowmaking and agricultural irrigation

Smaller-scale Coanda screen applications. Same engineering, same documentation, same delivery cycle. We've built screens for ski resorts and irrigation cooperatives across the Alps, the Pyrenees, and Türkiye.

Snowmaking

Cold-climate intakes for ski resorts

Snowmaking systems draw water from mountain streams and reservoirs in sub-zero conditions. Coanda screens self-clean during freeze-thaw cycles without electrical de-icing. We choose the slot opening and the material for the icing risk at your altitude and the temperature of the water at the intake.

Where the watercourse carries boulders, timber, or heavy ice fragments, we fit protection bars ahead of the screen: stainless steel bars mounted in front of the wedge wire. They do two things at a mountain intake. First, they take the impact: rock, gravel and coarse debris coming down a steep channel strike the bars instead of the wedge wire, which would otherwise deform under a direct hit. Second, they break up and hold back ice, so drifting fragments and freeze-thaw build-up cannot bridge across the screen face and block it. The bar spacing and the bar cross-section are designed for the conditions at your site during our engineering review.

Typical configuration: ADENCO-45 (5 to 35 l/s per unit) or ADENCO-70 (25 to 100 l/s per unit, up to 800 l/s in a multi-unit array) with 1.0 to 1.5 mm slot, 304 stainless steel. Multi-unit arrays for resort-scale water demand.

Lead time: 2 weeks for single units, up to 6 weeks for multi-unit arrays.

Agriculture & irrigation

Diversion intakes for irrigation canals

Gravity-fed irrigation diversions need to deliver a steady flow without the operator labour of clearing bar screens after every storm. Coanda screens self-clean during high flows and reject the silt that would otherwise clog drip-irrigation systems downstream.

Typical configuration: ADENCO-45 (5 to 35 l/s per unit) or ADENCO-70 (25 to 100 l/s per unit, up to 800 l/s in a multi-unit array) with 1.0 mm standard slot, 304 stainless steel. Single units are typical for diversions serving a cooperative. The pre-assembled ADENCO-BOX (5 to 100 l/s) suits sites with no concrete intake structure.

Lead time: 2 weeks ex-works Türkiye for single units, up to 6 weeks for multi-unit arrays.
